Kate & William Learning Baby’s Gender At Birth
The royal couple has bucked royal tradition yet again, as Kate and William have decided not to find out the gender of their baby until the moment he or she is born!
A royal insider tells Mail Online that the couple wants to wait until Kate gives birth to find out if they welcomed a boy or a girl. The Duchess also reportedly wants to have her mom Carole Middleton and her sister Pippa Middleton in the room when the baby is born, which means the Middletons will find out the gender of the royal baby before Queen Elizabeth II!
Most Couples Find Out Baby’s Gender
But the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are not only defying royal tradition by not finding out the gender of their baby — they’re in the minority of couples everywhere who are expecting a baby!
London OBGYN told Mail Online that “around 75 percent” of parents he’s encountered have chosen to find out the sex of their baby.
He said to Mail Online:
The option to find out is widely available to pregnant mother at 20 weeks. While three quarters of mothers choose to find out if their having a boy or a girl, there is a significant minority who choose to leave it as a surprise.
