What do you get when you combine a bipolar CIA agent and a soldier that’s working with the enemy? Something super HOT and extra scandalous. The on-screen chemistry between the main characters of ‘Homeland’ comes alive in a high-fashion story tale in the August issue of ‘Vogue’ — and you can see it right here!
Claire Danes steals the cover of the August issue of Vogue all while seemingly channeling a more fashionable, (but just as fierce!), version of Carrie Mathinson from Homeland. For the cover, the 34-year-old star is wrapped in a leather Burberry Prorsum trench coat — and while it’s a far cry from Carrie’s pantsuits, she still looks just as captivating as she does when she’s acting in Homeland.
Claire Danes’ ‘Vogue’ Shoot:
The character of Carrie is fueled by her passion to protect her country on the hit show — and her conflicting feelings for Sgt. Brody often get in the way of her job. For the August issue, Claire looks cool and confident while posing along her co-star,Damian Lewis, who plays Sgt. Nick Brody on the hit drama.
If you’re a major fan of the show your head might explode over the passion and tension in the shoot. In fact, if it weren’t for the high-fashion frocks we would think these shots were stills from the highly anticipated third season — although I don’t think we’ll ever see the day when Carrie rocks a backless Calvin Klein frock in the interrogation room! (Although it would be kind of major).
Claire Danes On Jennifer Lawrence & Carey Mulligan:
Although Claire is extremely talented, she is quick to commend other talented women in Hollywood. "I'm so impressed by Jennifer Lawrence and Carey Mulligan. They have this exquisite taste. They are very gifted in their ability to make great choices. I didn't have that rudder. There's the movie star that plays herself and the movie star like Meryl [Streep] that has this wonderful, glamorous persona intact and is undone every time she takes on a new character. I think I'm astounded and titillated by that."
Claire Danes On Life After ‘Temple Grandin’:
Claire opened up about how tough it was when she didn’t get work after delivering a the critically-acclaimed performance in Temple Grandin: "I was stuck… It was confusing. I got a lot of plaudits, and it didn't translate into more work. I was really, really struggling during that time. It was grim. I was very hurt. Two years of not working was brutal. And a point came where I thought, I really like interior design. Someone suggested, 'Maybe your real success is in your personal life.'"
Claire Danes On The Golden Globes & Being A New Mom:
The new mom dished on her life and experience at the Golden Globes with new responsibilities, which included caring for the young Cyrus. "I went on the red carpet, went upstairs, fed Cyrus. Went into the ceremony, got the award, went back to feed Cyrus, went out again. . . . Then it was 'Now you meet the president.' I had these new boobs; I'm wearing a big Jessica Rabbit dress, and I'd been living in sweat pants for so long. . . . It was strange. It was dreamy, surrounded by my parents and my husband. It was one of the best nights of my life because of this perfect mash-up."
Claire has done an extraordinary job taking on the task of playing bipolar agent Carrie Mathison, while at the same time establishing an incredible career and starting a family. We are so impressed and beyond excited to watch the third season unfold in the upcoming September 29 premiere.
