Lea Michele and Cory Monteith attended the 12th annual Chrysalis Butterfly Ball in Los Angeles on June 8. The event marked Cory’s first red carpet appearance since leaving rehab in April, but sadly, it now marks Lea and Cory’s final carpet appearance together before his sudden and tragic death on July 13.
Lea Michele Speaks About Cory Monteith — Last Words In Video Interview
During an interview on the carpet, Lea’s love for Cory was very evident.
“We really don’t plan [dressing alike], but sometimes it’s like crazy,” Lea playfully told E! News’ Marc Malkin on June 8. ”I’ll pick something out, totally not knowing what he’s wearing at all, and then it’ll be the same thing and he’ll be like, ‘You have to stop doing this!’ But this time, I sent him a picture of this [dress] and I was like, ‘This is what I’m wearing tonight,’ and then he picked that!”
“I think he looks great though, doesn’t he? So handsome. He’s the best,” Lea, 26, said with a huge smile.
Cory Monteith Dies — 'Glee' Actor Found Dead In Hotel Room
Cory's rep confirmed that the young actor had passed away on July 13. "We are so saddened to confirm that the reports on the death of Cory Monteith are accurate. We are in shock and mourning this tragic loss," the rep told PEOPLE. The Glee actor was found dead in his Vancouver hotel room.
"[Lea] is absolutely hysterical and completely inconsolable," a source close to the actor tells HollywoodLife exclusively. “She is devastated beyond belief."
Lea and Cory, who have both starred on Glee since its inception in 2009, started officially dating in February 2012.
Our thoughts are with Lea and Cory's friends and family during this sad time. The news is truly heartbreaking.
