The 31-year-old ‘Glee’ star was found dead in a Vancouver hotel room on July 13. While the actor’s death continues to be investigated, a new report claims that alcohol and substances were allegedly found in Cory’s room after his death.
Cory Monteith was found dead in a hotel room in Vancouver on July 13. As fans around the world continue to mourn the actor’s death, it’s been reported that “numerous amounts of alcohol” and other as yet unidentified substances were allegedly found in the Glee star’s hotel room.
Cory Monteith Alcohol & Substances Found In Hotel Room Where ‘Glee’ Star Died
Cory’s body was discovered at the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel shortly after noon on July 13. Cory was seen entering his hotel room shortly after 2 A.M., alone, but when he failed to check out of the hotel on Saturday, staff went into his room, where they found him. Paramedics declared him dead at the scene.
Inside his room, there was allegedly a bottle of wine. However, it’s customary at the hotel to gift a bottle to each of its guests. As for the alleged substances found, investigators are not assuming any connection between them and a possible cause of death “just in case he also had an underlying medical condition,” E! News reports.
Cory Monteith’s History Of Addiction
Sadly, the 31-year-old actor had struggled with drug and alcohol abuse since his teens. He dropped out of school, and stole, but his family held an intervention to make sure he entered rehab when he was 19.
Twelve years later, fans were shocked when Cory announced on March 30 that he “voluntarily admitted himself into a treatment facility for substance addiction.” Due to his treatment, Cory was missing from four episodes of Glee at the end season four.
Cory left the facility a month later and showed his gratitude by tweeting, “Sending out big love to everyone. Thank you for the continued support! It means the world to me!” He also returned to the loving arms of his biggest supporter, his Glee co-star and offscreen girlfriend Lea Michele.
Cory Monteith’s Autopsy Results
Cory's autopsy results have been expedited "due to public interest,” according to the Vancouver Police Dept. An official cause of death will not be revealed until autopsy results are released later this week.
What do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? Are you shocked by these allegations?
