After tragically losing Sybil when she gave birth to their child, Tom is getting a new lady in his life!

Downton Abbey is shaking things up in season 4! Daisy Lewis has been cast as Tom Branson’s (Allen Leech) new nanny for baby Sybil — but she may turn into something more for the heart-broken widow.

Their relationship begins strictly professionally, but a romance between Tom and Daisy will quickly develop, a source tells the UK’s Daily Mirror:

Daisy will become one of Downton's most prominent characters. She wowed producers in her audition and they are delighted to have secured such a brilliant young actress. Her romance with Tom will be one of the main storylines of the series. He will begin to develop feelings for her and they start a secret affair.

Downton Abbey shattered the hearts of millions when Lady Sybil died after giving birth to a healthy baby girl in season three. Dr. Clarkson tried to give her medical advice, but Sybil’s father was unfortunately too stubborn to take it.

Let’s hope Daisy’s character is worthy of Tom’s affections. He deserves some happiness! The fourth season of the hit show premieres Jan. 5 in the United States on PBS.
