Even though ‘Control’ is really Big Sean’s track, he got totally overshadowed by guest star Kendrick, who called out some of the biggest names in rap in his controversial verse! Now Big Sean is going on the record to say that his verse was lyrically ‘harder’ than Kendrick’s. Uh oh! Could a new rap feud be forming between the two collaborators?

After Kendrick Lamar dissed rappers like DrakeWale and A$AP Rocky on Big Sean‘s new track, “Control,” many artists have come forward to give Kendrick a piece of their minds. But this is the first we’ve heard from the rapper behind the song, Big Sean, who says Kendrick’s rude rhymes have got nothing on his. Read on to see what else he has to say!

Big Sean On Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Control’ Verse — My Rap Was ‘Harder’

G.O.O.D. Music emcee Big Sean, who kicks off "Control," says his verse was "harder" lyrically than both Kendrick and Jay Electronica’s. Is Big Sean jealous of all the attention Kendrick is getting?

The rapper insists he wasn’t affected by Kendrick’s verse, and even though he knew it would cause trouble in the rap community, he wasn’t nervous.

"Because I know it's Hip Hop, it's a sport," Big Sean revealed in an interview with Vibe.com. "I think it should get back to being competitive…It's like we all young G's. We all people who came up. We got respect for each other.”

Big Sean saw Kendrick’s verse after he had already written his, but he says he was not tempted to go back and rewrite his lyrics to protect himself.

But when I heard that verse I was like 'Man, I'm not about to go back and change my verse. That's cheating'…I could go back, change it. Make it this. I could namedrop. You know, I could do this. I could cut his verse up, but that ain't the way of a OG. You know what I'm saying? That ain't how Gs move. And I wanted to do that for the culture of Hip Hop. For the culture of rap as opposed to myself. Like tryna protect myself.

“I'm a good a** rapper,” he adds. “Big Sean got bars…Listen to everything. Listen to 'Control.' I feel like my verse was harder."

We hear you loud and clear, Big Sean — as does Kendrick! We wonder if he will have something to say — or rap — about Big Sean’s claim that his verse was harder.

Kendrick Lamar’s Verse On Big Sean's 'Control' Causes Drama

We told you Big Sean dropped his new song “Control” on August 12, and it’s really stinging the rap world! On the track, Kendrick holds nothing back in his blatant attempt to steal fans from his competition.

In case you haven’t had a chance to listen to the controversial verse, here are some of the lyrics:

I'm usually homeboys with the same ni**as I'm rhymin' with.

But this is hip-hop and them ni**as should know what time it is. And that goes for Jermaine Cole, Big K.R.I.T, Wale, Pusha T, Meek Mill, A$AP Rocky, Drake, Big Sean, Jay Electron, Tyler, Mac Miller.

I got love for you all, but I'm tryna murder you ni**as.

Tryna make sure your core fans never heard of you ni**as.

They don't wanna hear not one more noun or verb from you ni**as.

Geez, tell us how you really feel, Kendrick! We hope Big Sean’s name doesn’t end up on that list.

What do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? Was Big Sean dissing Kendrick when he said his verse is “harder?” Let us know!
