When Big Sean dropped his brand new song ‘Control’ on Aug. 12, no one was expecting Kendrick to call out some of the biggest names in the rap community on the track! Now rapper Tyga is speaking out about what he thinks of the controversial verse and you’ll never believe his reaction!
Kendrick Lamar, 26, has managed to cause a firestorm over his lyrics in Big Sean‘s “Control,” but not everyone is taking issue with him. In a interview with AXS TV’s SKEE Live, hip hop star Tyga, 23, called the verse “crazy and hot,” do you agree with him?
Tyga Reacts To Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Control’ Verse
You might have thought that every single rapper out there would be incredibly angry with Kendrick for calling them out. But Tyga actually thinks that it’s “hot!” Although he appears to not take issue with the lyrics, especially since he wasn’t named himself, he does insinuate that Kendrick isn’t being all that clever.
“That shit’s crazy … that was hot,” Tyga said. “When you start making money, you’re touring a lot, when you’re doing a lot of things it’s hard to stay in a real creative space because you’ve got so much other stuff you’re doing outside of music.”
In case you need a refresher, here is what Kendrick rapped on Big Sean’s track:
“I’m usually homeboys with the same n****s i’m rhymin wit/But this is hip hop and them n****s should know what time it is/And that goes for Jermaine Cole, Big K.R.I.T., Wale, Pusha T, Meek Mill, A$AP Rocky, Drake, Big Sean, Jay Electron‘, Tyler, Mac Miller/I got love for you all but I’m tryna murder you n****s/Tryna make sure your core fans never heard of you n****s.”
Diddy & More Rappers Respond To Kendrick’s ‘Control’ Verse
So far none of the rappers who were called out are slamming Kendrick. In fact, Pusha T wrote: “I hear u loud and clear my n***a… @kendricklamar.”
Mac Miller also said: “If I can’t do no more nouns or verbs ima start comin with the wildest adjective bars that anyone has ever heard.”
One of the more funny tweets was from Diddy who wrote: “KENDRICK!!!!!” Ohhhhh Sh********t”
Big Sean Reveals Why ‘Control’ Isn’t On His New Album
We told you that Sean’s new album Hall of Fame is expected to drop on Aug. 27, but that this song won’t be on it.
