Just when we thought most rappers didn’t really have a problem with Kendrick’s controversial rap lyrics, Diddy took to Instagram and totally slammed the 26-year-old rapper! He posted a pic of himself and Jay-Z laughing at Kendrick calling himself the ‘King of NYC!’ Are you shocked at Diddy’s reaction?
Kendrick Lamar, 26, has just upset the one and only Diddy! The rapper took to his Instagram on Aug. 13 and posted picture of himself and Jay-Z that would make us want to crawl under our own bed and hide! The pic shows Jay-Z and Diddy cracking up over Kendrick’s recent rap lyrics on Big Sean‘s “Control,” along with the caption: “And then Kendrick said, ‘I’m the king of New York.” Ouch, but that’s not all!
Diddy Slams Kendrick Lamar On Instagram For Calling Himself The King Of New York
Diddy clearly isn’t amused by Kendrick’s opinions of himself on Big Sean’s latest hit. Kendrick, who calls out rappers like A$Ap Rocky, Drake and Wale, also calls himself “Makaveli’s offspring, I’m the king of New York.”
Diddy responded with the pic [above] and a note on Instagram to his over 2 million followers that read: “Kendrick got ya’ll n****s taking ya’ll time now. What ya’ll gonna do now. Haaaa lol lets go!”
We’re not exactly sure why he roped Jay-Z into the whole thing but Diddy does have a point. Kendrick isn’t from NYC, so how could he be the king? Both Jay-Z, and Diddy grew up in the Big Apple. Diddy was born in Harlem, while Jay-Z as we all know, hails from Brooklyn. Kendrick on the other hand, he was raised in Compton, California.
Big K.R.I.T. Responds To Kendrick Lamar Calling Him Out On ‘Control’
One rapper who doesn’t mind being called out on the song is rapper Big K.R.I.T., he actually likes the attention.
Rap, Hip Hop has always been mad competitive. It’s exciting because it was probably crazier for his fans, for him to mention my name among rappers that people would consider top tier, [rappers] people kind of look at as being the future and my name just randomly popped up. So what I got an opportunity to see a little bit last night and this morning, was just people that probably never tweeted me before, whether it be negative or positive. For me, it was like, 'Thank youñ for the promotion.’”
This is the main lyric that everyone has taken issue, besides the King of New York one: “I’m usually homeboys with the same n****s i’m rhymin wit/But this is hip hop and them n****s should know what time it is/And that goes for Jermaine Cole, Big K.R.I.T., Wale, Pusha T, Meek Mill, A$AP Rocky, Drake, Big Sean, Jay Electron‘, Tyler, Mac Miller/I got love for you all but I’m tryna murder you n****s/Tryna make sure your core fans never heard of you n****s.”
