Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill will reportedly be joined by Bryan Cranston, who will play iconic villain Lex Luthor, in the ‘Man Of Steel’ sequel, as the ‘Breaking Bad’ star has allegedly signed a multi-film deal to appear in the franchise, along with other films set within the DC Comics universe.
A comic book website, Cosmic Book News, recently reported that Bryan Cranston, who has plays chemist-turned-meth-kingpin Walter White in AMC’s Breaking Bad, has been cast as Lex Luthor in the Man Of Steel sequel, leading to strong reactions on Twitter. But is it true?
Bryan Cranston Cast As Lex Luthor In ‘Man Of Steel’ Sequel
Bryan has reportedly signed a multi-film deal that includes at least six appearances as Lex Luthor, which basically means that his character will appear in a variety of films set within the DC Comics universe.
“I’m instantly more interested in this movie,” Ashley Chaffin immediately tweeted after reading the report.
“Walter White can stand toe-to-toe with the Dark Knight and Superman :),” Paul N. Carlson added.
Sadly, Batman-news.com was quick to dismiss the report, saying, “Bryan Cranston is NOT Lex Luthor. He’s interested in the role, but he hasn’t been cast yet.”
However, there’s still hope!
Bryan Cranston Casting Not Confirmed
Neither Bryan nor producers have confirmed or denied this casting report, so we’re still holding out hope because we think this would be a brilliant move for the Henry Cavill-helmed Superman franchise.
Aside from the potential Bryan Cranston casting, this sequel is already attracting widespread attention because Ben Affleck was recently cast to play Batman in the same movie.
What do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? Is Bryan Cranston a good choice to play Lex Luthor?
