Australian import Rick Cosnett has a ‘dark’ lesson for Elena & Caroline — but will one of them also end up as the teacher’s pet?
A new school year means a new enemy for Elena (Nina Dobrev) on The Vampire Diaries – and because this is The CW we’re talking about, Elena’s new foe is as wickedly attractive as he is, well, wicked! EW.com reports that Aussie actor Rick Cosnett will appear on the show’s upcoming fifth season as biology professor Dr. Wes Maxfield, and it doesn’t take long for Elena and Caroline (Candice Accola) to grow suspicious of him.
(An evil college professor? Hm… Where have we seen one of those before?)
Caroline & Elena: Hot For Teacher?
Elena and Caroline will encounter Dr. Maxfield at Whitemore College, where they’ll be enrolling in the fall. But before you get too worried about the girls leaving Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Tyler (Michael Trevino) for their pretty professor, it doesn’t exactly sound like they’ll be warming up to him.
The girls will make “fast enemies” with the professor, whom they suspect to be harboring a “dark and dangerous secret.”
Then again, who isn’t hiding something horrific on this show?
Bye Bye, Bonnie?
Sadly, Elena and Caroline will likely have to face Dr. Maxfield without the help of their witchy BFF Bonnie (Kat Graham). Kat recently spoke to HollywoodLife.com about her character’s visibility in season five — to anyone other than Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen), that is — and she didn’t sound too hopeful.
“Because of the situation with her being on the other side, where the only person she can communicate with is Jeremy, it forces an even more intimate relationship with him,” Kat told us about Bonnie and her boo. “There's even more of a unity and support.”
So don’t expect any slumber parties anytime soon!
