Miley, it takes two to tango, not just one and a half. So as hard as you are trying to make your love work with Liam, you can’t make most of the effort, as HollywoodLife.com has exclusively reported.

Miley Cyrus, you’re the one doing the heavy lifting in your love affair with fiance Liam Hemsworth.

Miley Cyrus: You’ve Been Compromising For Liam Hemsworth

You’re the one who’s been making compromises to keep Liam happy.

“It’s Miley that has been putting in most of the effort to keep them together,” a source close to the couple reveals.

You’re the one who has made most of the compromises, including trying not to just be you. “Liam hates how Miley over shares, but that’s just Miley — she’s an open book,” explains the source. “But she has tried to tone it down for Liam, she even quit Twitter for a while because it was causing so many fights.”

Fortunately, you didn’t cage yourself in too much. “She couldn’t stay off so she ended up promising him that she would never post about their personal life and she’s been pretty good about that.”

Now that was a better compromise than forcing yourself to agree to something that wasn’t right for you. After all, you know that building a fan base on Twitter for your recently released album, and future projects, was essential to drive sales.

You Both Need To 100% Support Each Other

Miley, you’re just 20 and Liam’s 23. You’re both so young to have made a lifetime commitment to marriage, when Liam proposed in May 2012.

But when he asked and you accepted, both of you needed to agree to support each other’s careers and creative endeavors.

No marriage can last if you’re not on equal footing and if either of you disapproves of the others’ aspirations. Especially when you’re both artists — you as a singer/actress and Liam as an actor. Your careers are such an essential expression of yourselves.

It’s sad that you Miley, didn’t even want Liam to be there to support you at the VMAs, because you knew he would be upset by what he saw.

Liam Should Have Came To The VMAs To Support You

“Liam was never going to go to the VMAs with Miley. She knew her performance was going to be outside his comfort zone and she didn’t want to be worrying about him in the audience and how he was going to react,” shares another source exclusively to HollywoodLife.com.

Thank about it, Miley. The VMAs was a huge moment for you, and you couldn’t share it with the man who’s supposed to be your life mate. Does that sound right to you? Would your parents still be together, despite issues they had, if they weren’t comfortable supporting each other at key life moments for either?

Liam should be your number one fan, Miley. And he needs to applaud you for successfully reinventing your image from teen TV star, Hannah Montana, to over-the-top racy “We Can’t Stop,” Miley Cyrus.

You’ve worked incredibly hard to make over the Disney Miley. A new, blonde, punky, sexy and uninhibited Miley bears no resemblance to sweet, country girl Hannah Montana.

You were convinced that you’d never be able to succeed as an adult singer if you didn’t change first. Plus, you needed to express your new musical taste.

Liam Should Be Proud Of Your Successes, Miley

The VMAs helped sell the new you with a new album, Bangerz. “The whole thing was just another day of work for her,” explains a source. “She wants her album to be number one, and that means promoting the hell out of it. She expected people to be talking and hating on her, she really doesn’t care because guess what — her downloads went way up, so she got exactly what she wanted, so she’s happy.”

Let’s hope Liam was happy for you too . . . and proud of you, even if your new outrageous sexuality in public is not something he would do.

Kudos for you Miley for putting your career ahead of any other compromises for Liam right now. You’re 20, you’re an artist and you shouldn’t compromise your career decisions for a more conservative fiance. After all, he’s not making his role choices based on how you would feel about them. And he’s also right to do that.

Accept Each Other, Or Your Relationship Won’t Last

At this point, while you may be engaged, you are also both growing and changing which is what young people are supposed to do.

If either of you forces each other into an uncomfortable box to please the other, you will just suffocate.

Your love will start to feel like a prison instead of it enabling each of you to find fulfillment and to keep on growing and expressing yourselves.

That’s why Liam needs to compromise and become more open to all aspects of the new you, then you have to ask yourself why you’re still “totally in love with Liam” and whether that relationship on really turn into a marriage.
