Michelle Obama Commemorates Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
The First Lady has been taking part in events surrounding the commemoration of the 50 year anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s iconic “I Have A Dream” speech. On Aug. 27, Michelle gave a speech about civil rights leader Whitney Moore Young Jr., paying tribute to the civil rights movement that led the country to where it is today. “For every Dr. King, there is a Whitney Young or a Roy Wilkins or a Dorothy Height,” she said in her speech. “Each of whom played a critical role in the struggle for change.”
