The first lady put her most fashionable foot forward for the 50th anniversary celebration of Martin Luther King’s ‘March on Washington.’ Did you love her pretty, printed dress as much as we did?
Michelle Obama looked appropriate and chic, (per usual!), when she stepped out for the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King’s iconic I Have A Dream speech on Aug. 28. The first lady selected a signature style from African-American designer Tracy Reese‘s fall collection on this occasion — and she looked stunning! Not only did Michelle stun in the floral frock, but the designer was thrilled that the first lady selected her dress for such a momentous occasion.
Michelle Obama’s March On Washington Dress:
Tracy Reese was quoted saying, "We are honored that the First Lady would choose to wear one of our designs during the celebration of such a deeply significant historical moment. Mrs. Obama’s radiance make our dresses shine!" We couldn’t agree more!
Her embellished flared frock featured a waistband that accentuated her figure and gave way to a skirt that fanned out around her. The dress hit right at the knee and dips down in the back to a v, while the scarlet floral pattern was so chic — and the dress highlighted the first lady’s favorite asset, her arms! The embellishments in the center of each flower were my favorite part of the frock. Michelle styled the dress with a pair of black patent pumps and she wore her hair back. It comes as no surprise that Michelle opted for one of Tracy Reese’s dress on this occasion — after all, she’s a huge fan of the designer and has showed off a slew of her creations in the past!
The first lady joined her hubby, President Barack Obama, and former presidents Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial to commemorate the momentous day.
If you can’t get enough of Michelle’s look, you can SHOP for it right here for $465. Did you like Michelle’s dress as much as we did?
