Dressing for a music awards show is a lot different than getting glam for a regular red carpet. Stars always like to go an extra mile and really push the envelope when it comes to showing off sexy, high-fashion, (and sometimes downright questionable), looks — and that’s exactly what Britney Spears did when she turned up at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2001. Clad in a dangerously short, long-sleeved Dolce & Gabbana mini, the star’s undergarments were completely visible under the see-through fabric — and her figure looked fantastic!
Jessica Biel, Britney Spears: Same Dress?
It looks like Brit’s look really resonated with Mrs. Timberlake! Jessica Biel also hopped on board with the sheer, lacy trend — over 10 years later! The star stepped out to support her hubby, Justin Timberlake, and she selected a lacy number by Dolce & Gabbana when she hit the VMAs afterparties on Aug. 25. While it put her killer figure on full display I didn’t really love this look on Jess. It seemed slightly sloppy and I didn’t think it was really flattering.
Considering the fact that stepping out in sheer has been a huge trend it comes as no surprise that the stylish star would rock the look. Realistically, I’m sure Brit Brit wasn’t on her mind when she was getting glam for this occasion — however, it is fun to point out the comparison. Imagine Britney and Jessica playing dress up and swapping clothes?
