Oh Niall, you have such a way with words! HollywoodLife.com talked to the boys of One Direction at their New York premiere of This Is Us, and Niall revealed that it was ‘great’ to get support from Gaga at the VMAs.
Lady Gaga was not impressed by the mean-spirited attitude towards One Direction at the MTV Video Music Awards on Aug. 25, and the boys totally appreciate her support! HollywoodLife.com got the change to speak Niall Horan at the Aug. 26 premiere of One Direction: This Is Us, and he spilled all the details on getting support from the seashell clad Mother Monster.
Niall Horan Interview — Lady Gaga Is ‘Great’
The cutest member of One Direction (yeah, we said it), Niall, 19, spoke to HollywoodLife.com at the New York premiere of This Is Us with Yahoo and The Home Depot, and speaking about the VMAs, he said that “It felt good to be at an award show again, we haven’t been in a while.”
Speaking about getting support from Lady Gaga at the VMAs – the boys were booed for winning “Song of the Summer” — Niall said:
Oh my God, Gaga was great. It was the first time we actually met her. We’ve always, like, been in the same place as her, at the same show, walk past her, but that was the first time we ever spoke to her. Lovely girl, really nice. And she had seashells over her boobs! It was very interesting! The way I look at it, no one else is going to do it, let Gaga do it!

Lady Gaga Supports One Direction At VMAs
At the awards show, One Direction was up against some pretty big names for “Song of the Summer,” so it makes sense that fans of the other artists up for the award would be upset when their acts didn’t win.
Daft Punk was nominated for “Get Lucky,” and Robin Thicke was also nominated in the same category for “Blurred Lines.” But when the British boys prevailed and took home the Moon Man, the crowd erupted into very loud boos.
Backstage, Lady Gaga was caught on camera saying this:
You guys deserve every single thing that you have accomplished in the past few years. I am going to leave the award show now because they are obviously trying to put you in the wrong light and it’s disgusting.
Perhaps we will see a Gaga/1D collaboration in the future!
