According to a shocking new report, Lamar allegedly rebuffed intervention attempts by his former teammates on the Los Angeles Lakers and the Los Angeles Clippers, fleeing the LA hotel room where his friends had gathered on Aug. 26.
The dramatic effort to save Lamar Odom from his alleged drug demons lasted three hours, and Lamar, 33, reportedly appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance during the talks, a source inside the hotel room says. Keep reading for more details.
Lamar Odom Intervention — LO Rejects Lakers & Clippers Efforts To Help Him
When Lamar’s former teammates showed their support for him at the intervention, he seemed receptive at first, according to a new report from Radar Online.
"There was a bit of time it appeared that Lamar was going to admit publicly his addition and go to rehab, again," a source tells Radar. "But then, he abruptly bolted from the hotel and left the premises."
It sounds like Lamar did a total 180!
"One minute Lamar is agreeing that he needs help and 30 minutes later, he says he just needs to be left alone,” another source reveals. “This is extremely serious, but there is really nothing anyone can do to save Lamar unless he wants to save himself."
The source says Lamar appeared to be under the influence of drugs during the intervention.
"Lamar was sweaty and talking very fast. His hands were shaking and he couldn't sit still. He kept pacing in the room," the source added.
Poor Lamar! If this report is true, it sounds like he’s really in deep. And now that he’s reportedly rejected his teammates’ attempts to help him, he must feel even more desperate and alone. Luckily, there’s one person who isn’t giving up on Lamar — his wife, Khloe Kardashian.
Lamar Odom’s Alleged Battle With Drug Abuse — Can Khloe Kardashian Save Him?
Khloe is known for being fiercely loyal, and she’s not about to give up on her husband in his time of need. Khloe realized she couldn’t save Lamar all on her own — she was actually the one who reached out to his former NBA teammates to ask them to encourage Lamar to get better.
“She called two of his closest old teammates and told them what the deal was and they called Lamar and told him to hang in there and offered help,” a source close to the couple told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. The source did not want to reveal the names of the NBA players, but says they’re members of the Los Angeles Clippers.
Contrary to the slew of reports that say Khloe, 29, is planning on leaving Lamar, 33, for good, our sources reveal that Khloe is a trooper and she will fight till the end to save Lamar and their marriage.
“She never left him to begin with [and] she’s not going to,” the source adds. “She doesn’t want to see him in pain and she doesn’t want to live in pain either. This is a struggle for both of them, not just Lamar.”
Khloe is obviously going through a tough time too, and with Lamar being so distant, she is turning to her family to help get her through this.
“The family is so worried about Khloe right now,” a source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “Kim has been one of the main people Khloe has been turning to. They’ve been having really long emotional talks. Khloe has been at Kris’ house a lot.”
Khloe is so strong! If anyone can help Lamar get through this, it’s her. But it’s good to know that Lamar has support from his friends and teammates as well.
