Poor Lea Michele. The wounds from Cory’s tragic death on July 13 are still fresh, and a source close to the mourning ‘Glee’ actress tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that as she tries to escape her insurmountable grief, there is only one ‘Glee’ crew member she will turn to.
Lea Michele is still trying to figure out how to cope with her soulmate Cory Monteith’s tragic death. She has been inconsolable ever since he was found dead in his Vancouver hotel room from an overdose of heroin and alcohol, and the pain isn’t getting any easier to death with: “She still can’t believe it,” a source close to Lea tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively.
Lea Michele: Ryan Murphy Carrying Her Through Difficult Time
Though it at first appeared that Lea was making headway by focusing on returning to Glee, the source says she’s now finding that talking to some of her cast mates is too hard at times.
“She has been talking to Glee cast members but she is also avoiding some as they keep reaching out to comfort her,” the source says. “So she will have a good moment and then a cast member will see how she is doing and then she will relapse into sadness.” The cast of Glee are obviously there to support her, but they also bring up memories that Lea clearly can’t handle right now.
But there is one Glee crew member who Lea continues to lean on — co-creator Ryan Murphy. “She is mostly in touch with Ryan,” the source says. ”He is keeping her feet on the ground as they are talking business as well.”
Ryan has stated that Lea is signing off on all decisions regarding Glee, and it was essentially her choice to only delay the production schedule by one week. “She wants people to be better and get back to work," Ryan told TV Line. "She wants to be with people. The [Glee] family is her family."
Lea Michele Still Devastated By Cory Monteith’s Death
But this sort of loss is so new to Lea, according to the source, so she still hasn’t quite figured out how to manage it. “Some days she just goes through the motions,” says the source.
“She is still a mess and trying to figure out things day by day, hour by hour.”
Lea reportedly doesn’t even want to get out of bed, and she is also reportedly worried that no one will ever love her like Cory did, according to OK!. She may be in the darkest time of her life right now and it likely feels as if this will never pass, but it will get better eventually.
She will miss Cory for the rest of her life but she will, with the help of her friends and Glee cast mates, also find a way to move on with her life.
It is all so heartbreaking though. Our hearts continue to go out to those affected by Cory’s death, especially Lea.
