Prince George Alexander Louis is a name fit for a king — but ‘Georgie’ is a name fit for a bouncing baby boy! The royal baby’s excited grandpa reveals that the little guy is already making a name for himself, and that name is Georgie!
Charles, Prince of Wales reveals that the royal baby is already on his way to an adorable nickname: Georgie! While at the Whitstable Oyster Festival in Kent, England with wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall on July 29, the proud grandpa gave visitors some adorable updates on the royal family’s newest addition!
Prince Charles Reveals Royal Baby’s Nickname
Prince Charles, 64, explained at the Oyster Festival that he thinks that George is a “very good name.” But he also said that he has no doubt the family will be calling him “Georgie in no time.”
The late Prince George, Duke of Kent was also nicknamed “Georgie” by his relatives!
Some young well-wishers in the crowd also gave Prince Charles a mini Whitstable Oyster Festival T-shirt to give to the baby prince. “Oh, that’s fantastic, thank you. I’m sure he’ll like to wear that,” Prince Charles responded to the gift. How absolutely adorable!
Prince Charles also told festival goers that his young grandson is ”very loud.” George’s powerful lungs have been of particular notice since his birth, from when his father Prince William first described the baby’s crying on July 23.
Prince Charles Reacts To First Grandson’s Birth
Prince Charles had perhaps the most endearing reaction of all to Prince George’s birth — the first-time grandpa was absolutely beaming with pride when he issued the following official statement:
Both my wife and I are overjoyed at the arrival of my first grandchild. It is an incredibly special moment for William and Catherine and we are so thrilled for them on the birth of their baby boy. Grandparenthood is a unique moment in anyone's life, as countless kind people have told me in recent months, so I am enormously proud and happy to be a grandfather for the first time and we are eagerly looking forward to seeing the baby in the near future.
