We called it! Taylor was a no show at Selena’s elaborate 21st birthday party in LA on July 27, and as we previously reported, it is because she didn’t want to see Selena’s on/off love Justin.
Selena Gomez had the best 21st birthday party ever, and she was so overjoyed that Justin Bieber arrived that she cried! However, there was one notable face missing at Malibu’s Revolve Beach House, and that was Taylor Swift‘s. So why did Taylor not make it? Taylor Swift Skipped Selena Gomez’s Party To Avoid Justin Bieber
Taylor, 23, was performing on the East Coast, so it was always going to be difficult for her to make the party, but we previously reported that she was planning on flying in after her show. However, Taylor happily didn’t attend because she didn’t want to deal with the “hoopla,” or see Justin.
A source close to Taylor tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively:
Taylor isn’t mad that Selena’s party was in LA. Taylor has been busy and will celebrate with Selena sooner then later and has contacted her to wish her a Happy Birthday, but she would have avoided going to the party because she would know Justin was there and she isn’t a super partier.
She is actually happy that she was busy so she had an excuse to avoid the hoopla herself as she would avoid the drinking and the carrying on. Taylor is very much a homebody and a little reserved so she would is not to torn up that she missed out.
How interesting! Taylor was seen paddle boarding the following day with Ed Sheeran, so she clearly wanted to chill instead of trekking it across the country.
Taylor's never been shy about her distaste for Justin, so we were not shocked when we heard that she was only considering making the journey if she didn’t have to bump into Justin. A source close to Taylor told HollywoodLife.com exclusively:
Taylor was talking about how she'll be on a super tight schedule on Saturday night because she has a show and she wants to get to Selena's birthday party. She was talking about flying out right after her show. She's not going to want to be there if Justin is there, it's so awkward between them now.
Taylor obviously didn’t make the party, but at least she is planning to make it up to Selena!
