Usher’s 5-year-old son is doing well after his terrifying near-drowning incident on August 5. The singer has released an official statement to thank well-wishers and the team of people who worked to save his son’s life, breaking his silence on this situation.

Usher released a touching statement on August 7 in the aftermath of his son’s scary pool accident on August 5. Now that little Usher Raymond V is doing well, the father is ‘deeply grateful’ the people who saved the 5-year-old’s life.

Usher Releases Statement After Pool Accident — Thanks Helpers For Saving Son

Usher, 34, remained silent on his son’s scary near-drowning incident until he released a personal statement thanking the extensive team of doctors, nurses, and help of quick-responders at the house are responsible for Usher V’s recovery.

In a statement reported by People, Usher said:

I would like to thank my Aunt Rena as well as the doctors and nurses who are working with us around the clock. I would especially like to thank the two men who saved my son's life, Eugene Stachurski and Ben Crews. They are true heroes and I am deeply grateful to them.

The immediate response by these people made all the difference in ultimately saving Usher V’s life!

“I am blessed and fortunate to say that my son Usher V is doing well and is recovering,” Usher continued, updating us on his son’s health. “I am overwhelmed by the outpouring of prayers, love and support for my family’s well-being.”

Usher Raymond V Nearly Drowns In Pool

Usher's 5-year-old son was rushed to an Atlanta hospital on August 5 after getting his arm stuck in the drain of the pool drain. He got stuck after trying to retrieve a toy from the bottom of the pool.

Doctors originally said Usher V would be "ok," after he arrived in the hospital and Tameka tweeted confirming her son's condition on August 7:

I'm so happy to say that my son is doing much better. Talking & asking for food. Thank you for ur well wishes & prayers.
