Ariana Grande may be petite but there’s nothing small about her talent! The 20-year-old songstress might have entertained during the 2013 MTV VMAs pre-show, but she quite arguably had the best voice of anyone who performed during the show! The talented star played up her performance in a purple costume that could have doubled as an ice skating dress. Ariana Grande VMAs Performance Dress: The star’s performance outfit had a flirty and fun vibe — and it was perfect given her age and her fan base. However it wasn’t long before Ariana ditched the costume for a formal frock for the red carpet. Ariana Grande VMAs Dress: The star stuck to the flirty vibe and again put her legs on full display in a short-sleeved dress. This time, she opted for a baby blue floral dress that had an a-line skirt. While some may think the mini was a safe choice on the star, I appreciate the fact that she opted for a different silhouette. From the pattern to the sleeves to the white pumps, it had a really trendy and stylish vibe — and it was so consistent with her personal sense of style! Her half-up, half-down ‘do and soft waves that she rocked during her performance looked just as good with her red carpet get-up. Not only was her red carpet dress perfect for the occasion, but we also love that the look was created by former Project Runway alum Kenley Collins! The designer is known for her feminine asthetic and it totally came through on this occasion — and did we mention she’s based in Brooklyn?
