Daft Punk Chooses The VMAs Over Stephen Colbert
Daft Punk got notably dissed by Stephen Colbert on The Colbert Report on Aug. 6, when the duo was slated to perform on his show and canceled their appearance last-minute.
Colbert said, "Unfortunately, Daft Punk is not here. We booked Click and Clack over here about a month ago. Apparently, Daft Punk are going to make a surprise appearance on the MTV Video Music Awards — spoiler alert! Don't tell anyone, because fun fact: No one told me until two hours ago."
“Get Lucky” was nominated for the “Song of the Summer” VMA but lost to One Direction for “Best Song Ever.”
