Celebrity Hairstylist’s Top Tricks — Mark’s Go-To Products
For frizzy hair: “You want to be careful with anti-frizz products because they can lay on top of the hair instead of penetrating into the hair shaft. Dove Anti Frizz Serum has natural almond and coconut oils to moisturize while fighting frizz,” Mark says.
For thicker and longer hair: “I swear by Viviscal and I use it myself. I had 2 clients who had to shave their heads for film roles and I told them both about it. One client used it and her hair grew back faster and twice as thick as my client who didn’t use it.”
The best way to style naturally curly hair: “I swear by Dove Shine Cream Serum! Actress Penelope Cruz taught me this trick — rake the product through your curls and do two braids, one on each side, and let it set for 10 minutes. Take them out to loose waves. Straightening curly hair does require a blow dryer or iron.”
On highlights or color at home: “I leave color to the pros.”
Mark on his favorite hairspray: “I never leave home without the Dove Strength & Shine Extra Hold Hairspray.”
On second day hair: “I love working with second day hair but sometimes the roots can be a little greasy. Spray Dove Invigorating Dry Shampoo on the roots and massage for a few seconds, then brush out. The grease will stick to the starch in the dry shampoo and you will have a clean scalp after brushing it out.”
