Plus, the Kanawha County Sheriff's Office released new information on Shain’s death to HollywoodLife.com. Read on for all the details and watch the video.

For anyone who has watched an episode of MTV’s Buckwild, you know that Shain Gandee was a thrill-seeker. He often involved himself in risky behavior, and sadly it was allegedly late night off-roading that cost him his life. Shain died on April 1, when an alleged off-roading venture went awry.

On April 1, Shain’s body was found in the driver’s seat of his Ford Bronco, partly submerged in a mud pit. Shain was pronounced dead and an autopsy is currently being conducted.

The Kanawha County Sheriff's Office Released The Following New Information:

“The names of all three deceased individuals inside the Ford Bronco recovered on April 1 are revealed to be Shain Gandee, David Gandee (both previously identified), and Donald Robert Myers, 27, all from the Sissonville area of Kanawha County, WV. The vehicle and bodies were found by one of Shain Gandee's friends who was searching the trails and ridges in the area for him and the others.  The vehicle sat unevenly, but upright, and was partially submerged in deep mud.  Mud was covering the lower part of the passenger side door of the vehicle, but the driver's side of the vehicle was above the mud.  The muffler of the vehicle was completely below the surface of the mud. Shain was seated in the driver's seat of the Bronco.  The Bronco was removed from the mud pit by a bull-dozer. Their bodies were removed from the vehicle and have been taken to the Office of the Medical Examiner.  Autopsies will be performed to determine the cause of death.”

Shain Gandee: Off-Roading Was A Hobby

On MTV's Buckwild site, Shain is described as loving "mudding, hunting and four-wheeling," and as a guy who has "done every job from coal mining to being a garbage man, but as long as he is using his hands, he's happy."

Based on the clip below and several other Buckwild episodes, Shain was clearly the happiest when he was off-roading. At the very least, it’s nice to know that Shain was doing something he loved before he died.
