Following Desiree and Chris’ romantic engagement on the August 5 ‘Bachelorette’ finale, HollywoodLife.com had a chance to speak to Brooks, where he EXCLUSIVELY told us that he would not make their wedding because it would be so ‘awkward.’
Desiree Hartsock and her brand new fiance Chris Siegfried just revealed on Live! with Kelly & Michael on August 6 that they will be getting married next summer, and one person who won’t be attending is the man who broke Des’ heart, Brooks Forester! In an exclusive interview with HollywoodLife.com, Brooks told us that while he is “extremely happy” for the new couple, he would not attend their wedding because it would be “wierd.”
Brooks Forester At Desiree Hartsock & Chris Siegfried’s Wedding?
In the most dramatic ever season finale of The Bachelorette on August 5, fans saw Des become engaged to Chris, and she then confronted her ex Brooks on the After The Final Rose special, which was awkward to say the least.
So, how does Brooks feel about Des and Chris being together? He told us:
I am happy for her. They came looking for love and they found that. Both are amazing individuals, and the fact that they found that and they are comfortable with each other, and comfortable with the decisions that they have made, and feel like they can back up the words ‘I Love You’ to each other and commit to that relationship is something to be celebrated and I am extremely happy for them. The fact that they found love is awesome.
Brooks is so cool to wish the best for his ex, although considering he left her crying on a dock, he should be!
So will he be attending the 2014 nuptials?
“That’s a really good question,” Brooks said. “Eh, I am on the spot, I’m blushing. I don’t think so, out of respect for Chris and Desiree that would just be awkward. I myself would go, if they feel entirely comfortable. That is a weird circumstance.”
Perhaps Brooks is right to stay away from the wedding. Nothing says “weird” like having your ex present for the most romantic day of your life!

So when will this wedding be?
Des, 27, and Chris, 28, spoke to Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan the day after their romantic engagement, and they could not look more in love!
“We would like to get married in the summer — next summer,” said Des to Michael, who added that she isn’t sure if she wants to film their nuptials for ABC. “We want to keep it intimate.”
How sweet! It is safe to say that their guest list will be Brooks free!
Desiree & Chris: So In Love
Speaking about their love on the After The Final Rose special, and Desiree called Chris the “greatest man alive.” How sweet!
“I knew she was the one; she was in it for the long haul,” said Chris, while Des added, ”Yeah, 100% [I can trust this love]. We’re building something great since, it’s not something I want to get rid of anytime soon or anytime EVER!”
Hooray for Des and Chris!
