Carly Rose Sonenclar stole everyone’s hearts on the second season of The X Factor. Her voice is absolutely incredible for a 14-year-old girl, and we know she a long future ahead in music. She sat down with HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY and revealed that she chatted with Selena Gomez about being famous — and how they bonded over their awkwardness!
Carly Rose’s Chat With Selena
The X Factor finalist and the “Come & Get It” songstress met up for dinner in April at Catch restaurant in New York City. When we spoke with Carly Rose EXCLUSIVELY on Aug. 1, she told us all about her hang out with Selena. Selena had advice for the burgeoning star, who looks to Selena as a “huge inspiration.” So sweet!
She was so sweet and we just talked about her life. Like, just walking down the street, being Selena Gomez, and what that’s like. I asked her, ‘Can you not even walk around?” and she said, ‘No, you can walk around without being recognized and stuff. You just kind of have to do the right things.’ We kind of bonded over that we’re both really awkward in interviews. She said, ‘I have no idea what to do.’
Selena is the absolute sweetest. She has been exactly where Carly Rose is, so to see her offering advice is just the coolest.
Carly Rose Following In Selena’s Footsteps
Before she became an amazing singer, Carly Rose started out in acting. For now, she is dedicating herself to her debut album, but she looks up to Selena and her ability to do both acting and music.
That’s another way I look up to her. I want to do both also. She’s doing both and managing to have the number one album right now and doing a movie.
There’s no doubt that Carly has a great career ahead of her. Seriously, have you seen her “Somewhere Over Rainbow” performance on The X Factor? This girl has unbelievable pipes. And with advice from Selena, she’ll handle fame just fine!
