Well, that was not what we were expecting after anxiously awaiting the music video for the Mumford & Sons song ‘Hopeless Wanderer!’
Mumford & Sons decided to try something completely different for their “Hopeless Wanderer” music video — and it’s quite possibly the best music video we’ve ever seen. The British folk band swapped themselves out with a funny man ensemble featuring Jason Sudeikis, Jason Bateman, Ed Helms, and Will Forte. Here are five things why this video is music and comedy gold.
Top 5 Moments From Mumford & Sons Parody
1. First and foremost, what’s not to love about this video? You have Mumford & Sons spoofing themselves with Hollywood’s funniest. Even if you’re not a folk music fan, this video is worth tuning in to.
2. Jason Sudeikis and Will kiss! No, your eyes are not deceiving you. In the heat of the moment, the two former Saturday Night Live stars embrace for a mini-makeout session. (As if this video couldn’t get any better.) Jason and Will always manage to keep us on our toes.
3. Remember Ed’s epic piano moment in The Hangover, when his character sang “What Do Tigers Dream Of?” Now, Ed is back playing the keys — and we wouldn’t have it any other way!
4. An emotional song wouldn’t be complete without some crying. In total Rachel Berry style, the comedy quartet starts crying and comforting each other. After this video, we were crying tears of joy.
5. At the end of video, the boys do what any great musicians do: they just start tearing things up. Nothing is safe from the wrath of this funny group — not the piano, guitar, or the accordion. Those poor, poor instruments.
So HollywoodLifers, what did YOU think of the Mumford & Sons music video? Did you love the parody as much as we did? Let us know!
