Lea Michele is helping the show’s writers address Finn’s death, and she’s hoping to reflect the truth behind Cory’s untimely passing. WE
Lea Michele has been so poised during this trying time for the Glee cast, crew and Gleeks worldwide. She is proving her strength once more by helping to pen a tribute episode to Cory Monteith, where his character Finn passes in a way that will feel real and emotional.
Lea Michele: ‘Glee’ Tribute To Cory Monteith Will Focus On Drug Abuse
Lea is obviously heartbroken, but she is strong and brave enough to take her grief and turn it into something extremely positive. After Cory’s July 13 overdose, Lea has made sure to be very closely tied into the show’s handling of Finn’a death.
“Lea wants it to reflect the truth, to warn people what can happen,” Us Weekly reports.
It’s an amazing idea. Hopefully Glee fans who are dealing with substance abuse can get the help they need by seeing it portrayed in such a real manner on the show.
Lea Michele Is A Major Contributor To Cory Monteith's Tribute Episode
HollywoodLife.com also spoke EXCLUSIVELY with sources close to the set that said, "The producers are still going back and forth on what they want to do and clearing music for his tribute. But most of all, Glee's creative team is looking to Lea to give the final word on decisions that are being made for this season's third episode, which will be an emotional tribute to Cory. The meetings are lengthy and Lea is a part of them to make sure everything is just right.”
We think Lea will be an amazing source of inspiration for the show, and we applaud her turning tragedy into an opportunity to educate others. We are eagerly awaiting the October 10 episode to see how it all turns out.
