Good news for Usher despite a scary situation. Usher’s son is reportedly ‘doing fine’ after being rushed to the hospital on August 5, when his arm got stuck in the drain of a family member’s pool, nearly drowning him.
Despite the fact that his son is still in the hospital, Usher can breathe a sigh of relief because everything is going to be okay. A friend of Tameka Foster, Usher Raymond V‘s mom, revealed on a local Atlanta blog that Usher Raymond V is currently in stable condition after a scary incident.
Usher Son Hospitalized — Doing Better After Almost Drowning: Confirmed To Be ‘Doing Fine’
Usher’s 5-year-old son was rushed to the hospital on August 5 after his arm got stuck in the pool drain when he tried to retrieve a toy from the bottom.
Upon his arrival to the hospital, it was reported that doctors said Usher Raymond V would be “ok,” and Tameka tweeted about her son’s condition on August 7:
I’m so happy to say that my son is doing much better. Talking & asking for food. Thank you for ur well wishes & prayers.
A friend of Tameka’s also gave an update on his condition on a local Atlanta blog on the same day, saying:
My sources have confirmed that Lil Cinco [nickname for Usher Raymond V] is doing fine. He’s currently in stable condition at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Scottish Rite and is being held for observation.
Usher must be extremely happy to hear that his little boy will be okay, and we are so relieved to hear that his condition didn’t get any worse!
Usher’s Ex-Wife Tameka Raymond’s Custody Battle
Now that two scary water-related incidents have occurred in Usher’s family since last July, Tameka is not taking any more chances with her children and is officially fighting for custody.
Tameka currently only has limited custody of Usher Raymond V and the former couple’s other child, Naviyd Ely Raymond, while Usher has full custody.
TMZ explained that she hopes to reverse the current situation, doing so “on grounds he's creating a dangerous environment.”
The site also reports that Tameka believes the kids’ aunt, Rena Oden, who was watching the kids when the frightening incident occurred, is "too physical in disciplining the kids."
Although Usher’s son is now physically okay, it sounds like there’s going to be more trouble surrounding the incident for a while longer.
Do YOU think Tameka should gain full custody of their kids, HollyMoms? Do you think the scary pool accident will hurt Usher in the custody battle?
