Like we said, we love Shay Mitchell, 26. The Canadian stunner always looks flawless and loves to share her beauty tips and tricks on Instagram. We love her August 6 nail art that she posted — and we love that she’s showing us exactly how to get her look! While her nail art may look intricate, it’s actually completed in four easy steps.
Shay Mitchell’s Blue Mani — Step By Step Tutorial
Shay’s nail stylist, Stephanie Stone, was the brains behind this look. Thankfully, Shay had Stephanie post a tutorial of this nail look on Shay’s website, so we can get Shay’s nails at home.
First, Stephanie says start with NCLA Eight Days a Week. Paint all ten nails this bright pastel blue shade.
This next step is where your manicure really starts to take shape through color blocking. Start with a green shade like Essie First Timer, and allow a lot of the product to slip off the brush. Then, starting from the center base of your nail, draw a straight line up and fill in once side of the nail with the other color. Then repeat this previous step with NCLA Like Totally Valley Girl on two accent nails on each hand for more “spunk.”
Finally, after your polish has dried, take some small silver stripping tape and lay it down the center of the nail where the two colors meet. This cleans up the line you made before, so your manicure looks clean and neat.
Finally, finish off the manicure with a thick and shiny topcoat like Seche Vite.
