Ariel was charged with three counts of rape and four counts of kidnapping in the case of the Ohio missing women, who were found in his basement after missing for more than ten years. What should his punishment be?
On the same day that Amanda Berry and Gina DeJesus returned home to their families, the lead suspect in the abductions, Ariel Castro, was charged with kidnapping and rape. Ariel, 52, allegedly held the three women and one child, Amanda’s, captive for approximately ten years.
Ariel Castro Charged With Rape & Kidnapping
Police said that Ariel, and his brothers Olin and Pedro Castro, bound their captives with ropes and chains. The women were rescued on May 6 after a neighbor heard Amanda's cries for help.
Amanda, 27, broke through the screen door and called police. She said, “Help me. I’m Amanda Berry. I’ve been kidnapped, and I’ve been missing for 10 years and I’m, I’m here, I’m free now.”
The Families Believe Justice Will Be Served
Gina's aunt, Sandra Ruiz, spoke to a crowd outside her home on May 8 and said, "There are not enough words to say or express for the joy we feel for the return of our family member Gina. We are asking for your support to be patient with us. Give us time and privacy to heal. When we're ready, I promise you…we will talk to you. Our family will forgive, but we won't forget. [Ariel Castro] will have to respond to the high and mighty."
What do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? What should Ariel’s punishment be if found guilty?
