Michelle Knight, 32, told police that she saved the life of Amanda Berry‘s daughter by giving the baby CPR when she was having breathing problems after she was born. The women’s alleged kidnapper and father of the baby, Ariel Castro, told Michelle she had to save the baby, or else he would kill Amanda.
Michelle Delivered Amanda’s Baby To Save Her Life
The baby was born six years ago in an inflatable pool inside the kidnapper’s house, with little or no medical supplies.
When the baby, named Jocelyn, had trouble breathing after birth, Michelle gave the baby CPR and “breathed for her” in order to save both of their lives. Michelle told police, “If the baby died, he’d kill her.”
After Michelle saved the baby’s life, Ariel forced her to clean up the mess from the birth.
Michelle Miscarried Five Times
Michelle also revealed to police that throughout her captivity, she became pregnant five times, but miscarried all five. Ariel purposely starved Michelle and repeatedly punched her in the stomach while she was pregnant to make her lose the babies.
Gina DeJesus, the third women held captive by Ariel, told police she didn’t believe she ever became pregnant during her decade-long captivity. The police report also said the none of the women received medical care or were ever seen by a doctor during their ten years in captivity.
