Wearing a super short white dress, Lady Gaga arrived at the Good Morning America studios on August 19. Fans lined the streets as they awaited the premiere of Gaga’s new music video for “Applause,” and based on our first impression, we doubt they were disappointed!
Lady Gaga New Video ‘Applause’ — Singer Reveals Sexy Music Video On GMA
Baring lots of skin and face paint, Lady Gaga dances her butt off in her new video for “Applause.” It seems like an ode to Madonna, but considering the alleged beef they have with each other, we can’t imagine that the Mother Monster would be referencing her predecesor.
Lady Gaga wears various identities throughout the video, including one very mermaid-esque costume. And while all of her outfits were so different, skin seemed to be the one constant throughout.
Lights flash, confetti flies and Lady Gaga rolls around in the most provocative ways. We’d say this is definitely a classic Gaga video.
Lady Gaga Talks About Her Hip Injury & Her Bold New Look
Obviously, Lady Gaga’s been MIA for quite a while, due to an unfortunate injury. So it was certainly exciting, for Lady Gaga’s fans, to see her return to the music scene. “I had no idea I broke my hip until the third MRI that I had. We had to do a few tests to figure out what was wrong. I’m okay now. I thought about nothing but my fans since that tour ended,” she said on GMA.
Now, Lady Gaga is back and better than ever! And with a new album, comes a new look for the super famous pop star. She explains her latest look:
“When we were on set, we did a lot of different looks in the studio. But they’re each representative of different parts of me,” she said, adding, “We put this clown on my face in an ode to the Jester.”
Then, “when I was performing on the set, I started to feel really emotional and sad because I hadn’t seen my fans in a really long time. I truly miss them, so I took my hand and I smudged the makeup down my face like tears.” She continued, ”Not that I live for attention, but I live for making you happy. And that’s when the applause happens.”
That sounds rather fitting.
Lady Gaga Set To Perform At The VMAs
In six short days, Lady Gaga will perform her hot new single at the MTV Video Music Awards on August 25. In fact, she’ll be opening the ceremony.
