Shailene Woodley, 21, is not only known for being the star on ABC Family’s hit series Secret Life of the American Teenager, but she was also known for her long brunette locks. However, she recently tweeted a picture of herself with a new chopped ‘do! Then, Shailene explained why she decided to chop it all off and change up her look.
Shailene Woodley Cuts Her Hair
While her new do may have something to do with her upcoming movie The Fault In Our Stars, Shailene also chopped off her luscious locks for another reason. Days before chopping off her hair, Shailene announced her plans on her Tumblr. She said:
i was immediately inspired to cut my own hair off with abandon. shed old layers and practice the art of playfulness. out of nowhere, i did a complete 360. i went from sacralizing the length of my hair, to appreciating the spontaneity of chopping it off. and also recognizing the beauty of freedom.
We love Shailene’s decision to transform her look! She not only chopped off her hair, but she donated it to the nonprofit Children With Hairloss. Whether it’s cutting her hair or going without makeup on the red carpet, Shailene is such a strong influence on her fans — she even inspires them with positive ways to give back. She says:
if you are in the position to cut off 8 inches of your hair, then i strongly urge you to do it. there are so many human beings out there who would LOVE the opportunity to possess long hair, but simply can not because of their current situation…. let's share!
