Vanessa Hudgens' SummerSlam Dress: Beautiful Or Too Busy? Aug 19th 2013, 16:20, by HL Intern The star certainly made a statement on the red carpet, but was this look a fierce fashion risk or a total flop? VOTE. Vanessa Hudgens is no stranger to taking a fashion risk. While the actress often relies on her boho chic sense of style, she has tried nearly every look out there ever since hitting the Hollywood scene in 2006. The 24-year-old took a fashion leap of faith when she stepped out on the red carpet for the WWE SummerSlam VIP party at the Beverly Hills Hotel in LA on Aug. 15, where she opted for a very intricate look — did it pay off? Vanessa Hudgens’ SummerSlam Dress — Fierce Or Flop? Vanessa wore a Temperley London dress that stopped right above her ankles. The embroidered frock featured sheer, long sleeves and fanned out around her figure. She paired the ensemble with Saint Laurent shoes and completed her look with Anita Ko gold spike rings, a Coomi eternity ring, and H. Stern earrings. While the star really got glam for the occasion, unfortunately this wasn’t our favorite frock on the star. Granted, Vanessa looks very pretty, (she has a great body and a fantastic face!), but there’s just a little too much going on with this look. Vanessa has a super petite frame, so the tea-length gown with intricate detailing swallowed up her whole body. Unfortunately it was a bit too busy for her small figure — although we commend her for taking a risk! It wasn’t the dress that we have an issue with, it’s the way the frock fit the star. Had it fit her better or had a shorter hemline, we might have been more inclined to like this look — and she would’ve totally hit it out of the park! While we think it was smart for the star to wear her hair back and keep the focus on the frock, once she added the large milkmaid braid there were just too many competing elements. Although this isn’t the best dress we’ve seen on Vanessa we do think it’s cool that she tried out a new look. What do you think? Do you think it was super fierce or a super flop? VOTE.
