After Rob accidentally shoved a security guard in the face following a night out with friends in Los Angeles on August 17, a source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that R-Patz knows he “pushed the wrong guy” and he’s sorry.
Poor Robert Pattinson got so upset over being mobbed by the snap-happy paparazzi as he exited the Hollywood nightclub Troubador that he almost punched a man he mistook for a photographer in the face! Now that Rob knows his victim was actually an unwitting security guard, he says he “feels bad” for losing his cool. Keep reading for all the EXCLUSIVE details.
Robert Pattinson Sorry He Pushed Security Guard — He ‘Feels Bad’
Rob has seen the infamous TMZ video of himself pushing the security guard and he realizes he got the wrong guy, a source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY.
“He was grabbed at one point on his way out and he couldn’t see who did it with all the flashes, and the security guard who was whisking him away to his car was the closest and most available guy to grab,” the source reveals. “Rob was buzzed as well, so add being buzzed, hundreds of flashes from the cameras and just being annoyed that he couldn’t just leave…that’s why he flipped out for the split second.”
That’s no excuse though, and Rob knows what he did was wrong.
“He feels bad but also knows he didn’t put much force into what he did,” the source reveals. “He is not worried about hurting anyone as it was more of a tap than a grab. It is now water under the bridge.”
That said, Rob doesn’t want to make an enemies — he’s not too proud to say he’s sorry.
“If and when he is there again and sees the guy, he will apologize, but he is not going to make a separate trip to make up for it,” the source adds.
We’re glad Rob sees the error of his ways!
In the video taken by TMZ, Rob is being bombarded by paparazzi and blinded by their cameras. He is then shown lunging at the man before hopping into an SUV and covering his face.
“He grabbed me on my face,” the bewildered security guard says while picking up his glasses. Instead of getting furious at Rob though, the guard seems to acknowledge that Rob didn’t realize who he was shoving: “He thought I was somebody else,” the guard says. Fortunately, he doesn’t appear to have suffered any serious injuries.
Rob is always so composed and laid back, so it was a little shocking to see him resort to violence like this. That’s why we’re so glad to hear how sorry he is about the incident.
