What a difference a little girl can make! Jay Z, 43, has traded in his sometimes harsh persona in favor of his sweet, affectionate side, thanks to his 17-month-old daughter Blue Ivy with wife Beyonce! In the fourth and final installment of Jay Z’s interview with BBC Radio 1, the proud father gushes about his little girl!
Jay Z: Blue Gave Me New Energy, Focus
Jay Z cites his little girl, Blue Ivy, for his renewed focus. In the interview, he tells BBC’s Zane Lowe:
I’m a writer. So, literally, I’m saying, ‘the birth of my child gave me this new energy and focus’ so ‘Blue told me to remind you’ but just the energy and focus. She obviously can’t say, ‘F*** the s*** y’all talkin’ ’bout. My dad’s the one.’ She’s 17 months. I mean, she’s amazing but come on. So, I’m using a metaphor to say that her energy and presence gave me the focus again to remind you exactly who I am.
With this new focus comes an even deeper desire to balance his time and stay home as much as he possibly can. While the rapper is planning on going on tour, he says the real work is making a schedule that will keep him with his daughter whenever possible. “It has to be carefully mapped,” he says, also taking into account his talented wife’s career.
Jay Z and Beyonce Still ‘Marvel’ At Baby Blue Ivy
This isn’t the first time that the dad has gushed over his little one. In an emotional commercial for his new album, Magna Carta Holy Grail, a teary Jay Z discussed how in love he and his wife are with their little girl! Of his daughter, the love of his life, he said, “[She's] something that we both created, you know, we still marvel at her.”
