Royal family fans all over the world jumped for joy when news of the the royal baby’s birth broke, so imagine the excitement of becoming a first-time grandparent! The Prince of Wales shares what grandparenthood will mean to him.
The royal baby has arrived! Kate Middleton and Prince William have welcomed their first child! Charles, Prince of Wales has also welcomed his first grandchild — and he had some endearing words to mark the occasion.
Prince Of Wales Reacts To First Grandchild
Kate Middleton gave birth to a 8 pound 6 ounce healthy baby boy on July 22 at 4:24 p.m. local time. In an official press statement following the news of the birth of his first grandson, Charles, Prince of Wales shared some touching words of pride:
Both my wife and I are overjoyed at the arrival of my first grandchild. It is an incredibly special moment for William and Catherine and we are so thrilled for them on the birth of their baby boy. Grandparenthood is a unique moment in anyone's life, as countless kind people have told me in recent months, so I am enormously proud and happy to be a grandfather for the first time and we are eagerly looking forward to seeing the baby in the near future.
So adorable! Charles is next in line to the throne, followed by Will and Kate. The new baby is now third in line.
Prime Minister David Cameron Also Welcomes Royal Baby
British Prime Minister David Cameron was also excited about the royal family’s new arrival. ”Best wishes to them, a very exciting occasion and the whole country is excited with them. So, everyone’s hoping for the best,” he told BBC.
