The Duchess of Cambridge was committed to having a traditional royal labor and delivery, which means welcoming the next heir to the throne naturally! London doctors are making sure she stays up and moving around while she is in labor.
Kate Middleton, 31, was admitted to St. Mary’s Hospital at 6 a.m. on July 22 after she went into the early stages of labor. Although the pregnant Duchess is expected to be in the hospital for the majority of the day, a royal source says doctors want to keep her up and moving while she’s going into labor.
Kate Middleton’s Natural Labor & Delivery
While most women envision lying in a bed for hours before their baby is born, the protocol is much different at St. Mary’s Hospital, where Kate is in labor and preparing to welcome the royal baby.
The Duchess of Cambridge is instructed to stay up and move around while waiting for the baby to arrive, a royal source told CNN on July 22. Since Kate’s labor wasn’t induced, it’s likely the doctors want to make sure her labor is brought on safely and naturally while they wait it out in the hospital.
Kate is also reportedly still planning on a natural delivery, and could use the help of hypnotherapy to ease the pain of a drug-free birth, according to CNN.
Kate Middleton In Labor — Prince William Drives His Wife To Hospital
Although the world is excitedly awaiting the next heir to the throne, Kate and her hubby Prince William, 31, made their journey to the hospital in a rather normal and non-royal way.
Prince William drove his wife to the hospital in the early morning from their close-by home in Kensington Palace, and made the trek to St. Mary’s without a police escort. What normal, down-to-Earth people!
