What an exciting day! Kate and William welcomed their first child, a baby boy, on July 22 — just in time for the new prince to have the same astrological sign as his dad!
At 4:24 p.m. GMT on July 22, Kate Middleton gave birth to her His Royal Highness Prince of Cambridge, her first baby boy! And actually, the new prince’s date and time of birth was almost exactly on the dividing line between the Cancer and Leo astrological signs. Can you believe it?
Kate Middleton Has Her Royal Baby: He’s A Cancer
Exactly one half hour separated whether Kate and Prince William’s royal baby would be the sensitive type or the supremely confident type — the cutoff line for becoming a Cancer was 4:54 p.m. GMT on July 22, just thirty minutes after His Royal Highness was born.
As a Cancer, the new prince joins other royals like Princess Diana, and of course his own father, William!
Astrology experts also believe that His Royal Highness will have some specific characteristics because he was born just before the Cancer cutoff line. “If the baby is born before 4:54 p.m. GMT he will be a Cancer — like father William — but his moon will be in Capricorn, which is the same star-sign as mother Kate,” Deike Begg, an astrologer with The Association of Professional Astrologers International told Mail Online.
He continued, explaining what the royal baby’s star sign means in regards to his personality:
This means the baby will share a lot of the parents' personality traits. As a Cancer, the child will be very family oriented like its parents and sensitive. Cancers often appear strong on the outside but are very soft on the inside. But with a Capricorn moon it would also be aware of its responsibilities and dependable.
Deike states that “a baby chooses when it wants to be born,” so evidently the little prince is more of the strong, silent type!

Besides being born right before the Cancer cutoff time, the royal baby came into the world at 8 lbs., 6 oz., according to a press release from Kensington Palace.
Fellow Cancer Prince William was in the room when Kate Middleton gave birth to the new prince, who is now third in the succession line after his grandfather Charles, the Prince of Wales, and then his dad!
As for what this little royal is going to be called, Kensington Palace states that the child’s name “will be announced in due course.”
But we’re so glad that Kate and William have had their child, and that he’s a healthy boy! No matter what kind of person he grows up to be, we’re going to enjoy watching him through the years.
