The Winchester boys are getting some company on The CW! Get the scoop on your next paranormal addiction.
While Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) have an open invitation to our DVRs every week, we wouldn’t mind some additional Supernatural love. And it turns out our prayers have been answered, because the The CW hit now has a spin-off in the works!
‘Supernatural’ Execs Announce Spinoff
During the Supernatural Comic-Con press conference July 21, executive producer Bob Singer revealed that a spin-off is in the works, as confirmed by HollywoodLife.com‘s sister site TVLine.
But have no fear, Sam and Dean are not splitting up! A new character will be introduced in the twentieth episode of the show’s upcoming ninth season, and that character will lead the spin-off. Just like The Vampire Diaries and The Originals, the episode will serve as the back-door pilot for the new series.
The Originals is already looking promising for The CW, so naturally, the network hopes Supernatural can also have a successful spin-off. And if the new lead character that looks anything like Supernatural‘s gorgeous brotherly duo, that success is practically guaranteed!
The ninth season of Supernatural premieres Oct. 15 on The CW.
HollywoodLifers, are YOU excited about the idea of a Supernatural spin-off? Any dream actors you’d like to play the lead? Drop a comment with your ideas!
